This Ain’t Your Grandpa’s Fishing Show

About the Show

Fishing and Outdoor TV have always been the same and we’re sick of it. Here Fishy Fishy is a fishing show that challenges the rest to be the first of it’s kind, we are not your Grandpa’s fishing show. A boys trip, a comedic and educational adventure series and a cooking show all in one. Although sport fishing is drastically changing in the Pacific Northwest, a day on the boat with the boys will stay the same. Buckle up, this summer Mac and RJ will be travelling North to Prince Rupert, British Columbia where they will start their two month journey down the rugged West Coast… fishing, laughing and filling their guts with bounties of the pacific along the way.

Mac was born and raised on the ocean. Growing up on the Sunshine Coast he fished almost every day as a young gaffer. His late father Paul was the one who really shaped Mac into the gnarly fisherman he is today. An entire childhood of fishing the oceans, lakes and rivers of British Columbia and many other places around the world where he’s lived and worked has shaped him into the waterman he is today. Mac also has a big passion for cooking. He’s owned 3 restaurants in his young life so far and is opening his fourth restaurant in his hometown of Langley, BC. Macs love for the ocean extends beyond the surface of the water as well, he’s a certified scuba diver and is currently indulging himself into the world of freediving and spearfishing. He’s a true waterman, ocean conservationist and lover of all things that swim. Mac is a 40-year-old beauty with a contagious positive outlook on life and living. Mac wouldn’t be the man he is without the solid crew that backs him up. Brianne his wife and two young babes Isabella and Hallie are his first passion in life and motivation to be the best dad and man he can be.

RJ grew up in southwestern Ontario with Mom, Dad and two younger siblings but it was his grandfather that ignited his passion for fishing and introduced him to the incredible coast of British Columbia. By the time he was 15 years old, RJ was regularly flying West chasing his passion for fishing and the outdoors. He started working at a remote fishing resort off of the West Coast of Haida Gwaii where he would spend 11 seasons doing everything from cutting fish to managing the lodge. RJ’s passion for the ocean led him to places all over the world like Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Australia, Mexico, Hawaii and California where you could find him surfing, scuba diving and of course fishing. Already at the spry age of 28 RJ has spent 12 years in the fishing industry where he has built a wealth of knowledge and a sincere respect for the Ocean and those who inhabit it. Above sea level RJ has spent time in the mountains of BC, fishing for trout in rivers and lakes and driving down the Pacific Coast Highway from Tofino to SoCal in his campervan searching for waves. RJ is “full of piss and vinegar” and lives life on the edge chasing the next adventure at any chance he gets.
